Hi all,
I've been comping for years now but something I've always wondered is how long do you wait if you've won with a specific business or company before you start entering their competitions again? (unless T&Cs state specific timeframe of course)
If I entered so soon after winning, does it effect my chances to win again? Am I being greedy?
I tend to wait around 4 months before entering again to give others a fair chance but I have noticed on Facebook recently 3 or 4 different people have won with the same companies on more than one occasion and have no qualms re-entering again and again.
Just wondered what your stance is? x

I think the only 'official' answer is to check the T&Cs of the competitions you win. I think I have read on here that some of the radio stations prohibit you from entering for 6 months if you win a prize above a certain value.
As for the 'moral' stance, I can only give my personal opinion. I think it is very nice of you to consider giving others a chance but have never stopped entering a particular company's comps because of a win.:o Winning most comps is (or should be:eek:) entirely a matter of luck and the chances of you winning again immediately are very low. In effort type comps, if you put the effort in why wouldn't you deserve to win again?
I speak, of course, from the viewpoint of someone who has SOME luck but not a huge amount so it is not an issue which has often arisen:rotfl:
Good luck with your comping and I hope you continue to win in 2016"If ever there is a tomorrow when we're not together... there is something you must always remember. You are braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think. But the most important thing is, even if we're apart... I'll always be with you. "

I recently won an Italian hamper on facebook. I was the reserve prize winner back in October and when the first one didn't respond they gave it to me. They kept stressing that I should keep entering their comps on FB because it was purely down to luck and chance and I might win again! So that's one company's viewpoint!
Having been comping some years I don't think I'm half as 'nice' as I used to be :rotfl:0 -
I have won the Jennings instant comp 5 times in three years. Two main and three runners up prizes. seeing as they give away prizes daily all year round, there are plenty of opportunities for people to win.0

I won a product of the year goodie bag and was entering other competitions for the same prize, but stopped once I'd won one.
If it was a big prize then I wouldn't enter the current one they might be running, but any after I would.
Small prizes or low cash amounts- unless the T&Cs say you can't, I'd carry on entering.0 -
If I was informed of a win today from any particular company, there is a good chance that I would have dozens (even hundreds in some cases) of entries already in for comps ending over the next few weeks with that same company.0

There was a competition posted on here over the Advent period by a newbie that was totally ignored,:( but I went and checked it out I entered the comp for a double CD and won, I won again 2 or 3 days later, I told Chrissie about it the next day and she won.
I won another twice in the following week so I won 4 x double and treble CDs. I think most days there were only 3 or 4 folks entering in the end the host was just messaging me on FB saying they would send the prize through to me

I just go by the T&Cs. For example I have had a large win from Bauer within the past six months, which bars me from winning anything else over £500 with them until the six months is up - so I'm just not entering anything on any of their radio stations or the Take A Break etc magazines. It's a nuisance but I was lucky enough to have a decent win so I should be happy with that.
But as for other companies: I have also had a £200 win from Mumsnet and there is nothing on their T&Cs that says you can't win more than once, so I am still entering their competitions.
I also still enter for comps with companies that I've won good prizes with in the past, as long as they don't specifically say you can't.0 -
I enter every comp I want to win the prize from, no matter how recently I won from the company. All is fair in comping is the way I see it, as long as you aren't cheating or breaking any of their rules.
In November I won from a Facebook page twice in 3 weeks.I just enter and forget...hoping to win something!0 -
If the company haven't instructed you that you can't win another prize within a set period or the t&c don't state similar then in my eyes you are free to continue entering them after a win.£2 Savers Club for 2022 #120

I remember someone on here a few years back who won 2 ITV prizes within about 3 months (both substantial cash amounts) and at the time I thought it was a bit "off" that they'd kept entering after winning such a large prize the first time, rather than giving other people a chance.... but then how many of us can say hand on heart that we wouldn't do the same?! I don't think I could truthfully say I wouldn't still want to win another big prize! I mean obviously if you won millions on the lottery you'd just say fair play to everyone else and leave them to it, but given that ITV never had any "no more wins for x amount of time" caveats, then the person was not breaking any rules!0
