We've got one of them showers thats attached to the taps in the bath, but when you have the shower part on the hot water comes through as a trickle but if i turn the ot water so it were to come throught the tap it seems to flow like it should do so im guessing theres a blockage in the pipe leading from the taps to the shower head but what can i use to unblock it,
open to any ideas how i can solve it

Hi,
if your shower head comes off then remove it from the hose, and make sure hose is clear.
The problem is probably the shower head needing descaling.
You can use the stuff that you use for descaling kettles or steam irons, though I would put some bleach in a container and add enough hot water to cover shower head and soak over night, you might want to poke each hole in shower head with fine needle first to break up any gunge and clear the hole.0 -
If you soak the shower head in vinegar it will descale it. Vinegar is a wonderful & cheap solution to scale build-up.
Another way of descaling things such as shower heads is to soak a piece of kitchen towel in vinegar then place the wet towel over the holes in the shower head.
The bigger the bargain, the better I feel.
I should mention that there's only one of me, don't confuse me with others of the same name.0 -

No it won't affect the shower head, especially if it's solid steel. Using vinegar is fine on other metal shower heads as long as you don't leave it soaking for absolute hours. I do my big metal shower head regularly with vinegar & it's never suffered any damage or discolouration.
What I do is put mine in a dish with vinegar to cover the holes for around 30-45 mins, then using an old toothbrush dipped in the vinegar I give the shower head a scrub to loosen any remaining scale. Vinegar is also great for removing scale build up around taps & brings them up lovely & gleaming after wiping down with a soft cloth. The bigger the bargain, the better I feel.

just buy a new flexi shower hose? they are cheap enough it wont break the bank......0

If the shower head is clogged with limescale then a new flexi hose won't be any use whatsoever as the hose isn't the problem. The bigger the bargain, the better I feel.
