Did you manage to sell your property in the end? I just recently inherited a property and contacted a number of companies for quotes and prices, and worked out that very few were true cash buyers.

Thankfully the property I inherited was in London allbeit in Stratford, and I got 90% of valuation of property for a cash sale within 14 days from this company.

I could have got more by selling to auction but did not want to wait around 3 months or more with Mr Osborne changing the stamp duty, so took my inheritance and re-invested into a business, and paid off our mortgage.

If you genuinely did this then it was crackers. I don't see how the SDLT changes would have affect someone selling an inherited property.

Also if you only received 90% of what it was worth in a highly buoyant market like London I can only imagine that those outside London would get a lot less.
