currys TV

Hi im new to this forum but here i go.
i wanted a 4k tv and after looking around pc world they had a nice samsung @£899 with 5 years warranty. Reviews were good, the salesman said that they had none in stock or at other pc worlds around and they had no idea when they would. with the prom ending any day we look for a different make or model. he then said that we would need to buy there warranty as the makers don't cover the screens. i said that is like buying a car with no cover on the engine. he showed us a display model with a dead pixel and said that would not be covered. so we had to get a lower model LG @£649 then £200 on top. (last night) we unboxed it and set it up.
anyway after thinking about it today we asked pc world if what we were told was true about the warranty which they said no. also we could of ordered the samsung online for collection today. they have stop the warranty but nothing else.
Am i stuck with the LG or can i get the samsung we wanted.
many thanks
will not buy from currys or pc world again

If the tv is unused and they will take it back and refund then I would order from John Lewis. All their tv's come with a 5 year warranty - they will also replace the tv if it is uneconomic/impossible to repair. You can get free delivery to your nearest waitrose if there isn't a JL near you. Richer Sounds also offer a similar warranty, though I don't know if they stock the 4k tv's.0

You're stuck with the LG since there is no fault.
The salesman wasn't lying to you there probably wouldn't have been any in stock and he also wouldn't have known if there was any coming in. As for online collection they are sent via a stock house to the store so you can order online and pick up in store.0 -
they told me the warranty did not cover the screen which was wrong they do.
i feel mislead by the salesman,
cajef not very helpful are you
i was talked into it and the promo ended soon so felt under pressure. Yes i should of walked out0 -

I don't really know what help you expect you bought a TV which you now feel you were pressured into buying, have removed the packaging and presumably used it, now you are having second thoughts, as said above you can ask Curry's to take it back and give you a fund but as it in not faulty then they may refuse and you are stuck with it.0

What the salesman may have meant is that the odd defective pixel may not be covered under warranty .
>>>i feel mislead by the salesman,
They will deny misleading you and say you misunderstood .
Personally reading the OP in your haste you have led yourself up the garden path .0 -

But even if they had misled you, that would only entitle you to a refund for the warranty - not for the tv.
Its possible they weren't lying. Most manufacturers have an acceptable tolerance for dead pixels (that allow a certain amount of dead pixels before a repair/replacement under warranty is offered. Retailers tend to offer a warranty on top of this, as a no dead pixel type policy. You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means - Inigo Montoya, The Princess Bride0 -
ok, thanks unholyangel
i did get the warranty back.
next time i want rush into things.
thanks0
