3 Searches on a single mortgage application?

I made a mortgage application to Halifax, via a broker, on Monday. Yesterday Halifax agreed to the application subject to a satisfactory valuation, happy days. Anyway today whilst checking my credit file, I notice Halifax have made 3 separate search on my credit report. Is this normal? I was expecting 1 maybe 2. I called Experian to query this and they seem to think there might have been a mistake, as there aren’t normally 3 searches on a single application.
Thanks

Are they all full searches? Some may be ID checks and so on..0

Yep, 3 hard searches. Experian said they will contact Halifax to query if these are correct or 3 genuine separate searches, Experian said they think it's a mistake. I'm not planning on applying for any credit and time soon but would like them removing if duplicates.0 -
Are they all identical tags? Could you list the exact wording.
Were they all dated the same day?0 -

Yeah all on the 4th when my application was submitted and all say "First Mortgage". I did double check with my broker that the application was only submitted once and he confirmed it had so it's not because of that.stclair wrote:Why? call experian and not the halifax direct.
Initially I just thought it was a mistake with the Experian report so they were my first port of call and they offered to contact Halifax on my behalf. They said they normally get a response within a week so if I don't hear from them by then I'll contact Halifax myself.0 -
My Halifax application has the same thing - three hard searches, one on the day of AIP and two on the full app day - they explained it to me tho - a default showed on the soft AIP search so it automatically then became a hard search and they included Call Credit. then the full search is recorded twice, once with me as a main applicant and once as a linked applicant because its a joint application with my husband.
I don't know if yours is the same but this is what they told me when I asked about the duplicate entries0 -

Ahh that makes sense. Yes I do have defaults and it was a joint application. Thanks Mummyto4kids0
