'Royal Mail signed for' service

Something that's weirdly worked for me a few times (although it could well be nothing more than coincidence) when an item is showing as "progressing through our network" and the recipient has claimed non-delivery, is to go onto the RM website and actually arrange a re-delivery for a couple of days' time (giving my email address and telephone number).
Every time I've done this, it's miraculously been delivered the next day (with updated tracking to reflect this).0 -
Has anyone used the 'Royal Mail signed for' service and the post office can't find anyone in long enough to deliver to? Do they try again in the evening, or early morning. What happens if the recipient is on holiday? Do they try a week later?
I'm wondering if I should sent a normal letter as well, so at least it will be posted through the letterbox.
They will leave a card confirming delivery has been attempted. They won't make a second attempt unless the recipient asks them to do so.Stevie_Palimo wrote: »My postie either drops them through letterbox if small enough and signs it himself
your postie will most likely be receiving his P45 soon if he carries on doing that.0 -

Well it will not be from saying anything and living in a semi rural area I can see why he wants the post off loaded, I have no issue in him signing for my stuff.0 -
processed for delivery means they are still trying to deliver it. if an attempt is made to deliver it then it shows up on the tracking as....'we attempted to deliver at xxx time on xxxxday and we left a we have your item card. I've never had to pay extra to get this info.
this has shown up on the RM tracking page for a few items that I sent over xmas. I've also received the card myself when I've not been in and it has a number on it to call to rearrange delivery, or there is the option to pick up from a PO or sorting office.0 -
Do they ever update the tracking after they say it's being redirected?0
-
This will never be delivered since he has no intention of collecting it from the sorting office.Status: It's on its way
Item __________ was posted at ___________ on 04/01/16 and is being progressed through our network for delivery.
Royal Mail Signed For is not a fully tracked service so your next update will be when your item has been delivered.0 -
If you want to use the signed for option as evidence you are on to a loser as unless it is actually signed for it is not delivered in law. Send 2 from different post offices first class with proof of posting and they are deemed delivered 48 hours after posting. Any legal action can be based on that premise.0
