Chrome memory leak & Flash plugin

While using Chrome browser my laptop regularly grinds to halt as the memory usage for a Chrome process in Task Manager spirals out of control continully increasing.
It is related to the Shockwave Flash plugin.
The Flash plugin eventually crashes, Chrome browser & laptop grind to halt as memory is maxed out and this Chrome process eats the memory, taking it from other processes.

If I kill the offending Chrome process, the memory dramatically reduces back to normal.
I think all my software is up to date.
Any ideas on this ?
