Denied current account

Tried to join first direct bank , current account, using on line via money supermarket,

Filled in the application

During the application i was asked to enter my current account bank details, instead i put in bank details for another bank account which i have in my name, only had this account for a month and never used it

I think because of this i was declined. By first direct.

Im sure if i did it again but entered bank details for my actual current account , my main account that i use i would be accepted.

I am not in debt or anything. And i did not apply for over draft.

My question is this, due to been denied, will this effect my credit rating / score ????

I doubt it makes any difference. Companies who check your credit files don't see the names of other companies listed or account numbers.

There will be a record of the credit search on your file but as long as there are not lots of searches in a short space of time I doubt that it will make any difference.

I have joined , successfully, with 3 banks in december 2015.

The reason, for the perks ether cash back or free cinimar tickets, or high interest current accounts ect.

I did receive a phone call from the bank i acually use, my main bank, they just wanted to know if it was actually me doing the applications for other banks, i said yes, and they said it was ok.

Im not in debt, i dont apply for over drafs or any credit. Just use them for the perks.

When you apply for an account use the bank details you've had the longest it looks better on your application.
