Spend Avios on Thomson

I just got an email from Avios with their sale offers, and they give a discount of £200 if 10000 avios are spent on a package holidays, but 10000 avios only give me a £50 off the package which seems very little...
Is it a good deal because of the £200 discount? I've had these avios for some years now and I don't know how to better use them, flights seem expensive with them as I can always find a better deal with low cost...
Any other idea of how to spend the Avios wisely?
Thanks!

Avios offer best value, typically, in the following circumstances:
- Business / first class travel beyond Europe.
- Short haul economy flights to Europe (Reward Flight Saver) usually from London.
- Internal flights in the USA.
Other redemptions such as hotels and car hire typically save 0.5p for two points.
Rather than seeking out a package holiday I'd be looking at:
1) Can I book Reward Flight Saver flights to holiday destinations?
2) Can I pay for adequate hotel accommodation at my preferred destination?
3) Can I do both (1) and (2)
4) Can I use Avios to pay for an airport hotel giving me access to cheaper early morning flights from a tour company or low cost airline?
Your £200 discount may be a genuine offer. These things often replicate similar offers already available elsewhere though. So I'd treat it with caution.0 -

you are getting 2p per Avios point which is pretty decent provided the package holiday prices are not too inflated.
A bit of online research first, b4 phoning Avios0
