Do you not think the police have better things to do than to entertain numpties like you and your "mates" ringing them up to ask random questions. You sound like the sort of person that would do this via a 999 call?
theres another phone number you can use its like a local number..
as if were going to phone 999 :p

Why not skip the junior staff you'll get at your local station and go straight to Liz on 020 7930 4832.

    Or if she's unavailable try C Lyons on 0151 430 9009.

It had obviously been red for a while so straight to court.

And how do you know that?

Because if it was a minor infraction where the lights had only just turned, there would usually have been a fixed penalty offer.

Are you trying to provoke an arguement or don't you know about red light enforcement?

I'll assume you're ignorant about enforcement and tell you that if a red light has been red for longer than a certain time a fixed penalty notice will not be issued and the driver goes straight to court.

On the other time had you actually read the shoe thread instead of going straight to those you wish to pick a fight with you'd see the op had already confirmed this.
I wasn't offered a fixed £100 penalty. I think the reason is that I crossed the red light a long time after it had turned red.

But I think the actual fine is quite low because I crossed it at less than 10mph and it was in traffic.

I guess my question is are the victim surcharge, costs and court charge applicable in my case even when it wasn't my decision to go to court and I pleaded guilty straightaway? Because they have turned a £40 fine into £295.

You'd call it experience and knowledge.

Three times in two days you've tried to pick fights on here and been wrong.
