After maternity leave - to return to work or not

Is there some sort of calculator out there that can help you estimate the of returning to work vs not returning to work? I've looked on the GOV website but it looks a bit complicated (for me, anyway!).

I'm looking to compare the cost of returning to work and paying childcare, against the cost of not returning, and any potential allowance we might be entitled to (I have a feeling we won't be entitled to anything, but I'd like to check!).

Or better yet, who is it you talk to about these things? Is there a particular GOV dept or something?
