Furniture in Fashion lost parcel

I have had nothing but trouble with this company. I placed an order with them on the 8th November for a table which arrived damaged with two corners bashed in. I contacted them multiple times to arrange return and they eventually sent Yodel to collect the table on the 7th December.

Yodel have had the table since then and have said it is lost. The tracking information shows it has been collected from me and that is all. I have opened a paypal claim which I have lost as my tracking number doesn't show that the table has been delivered.

Furniture in Fashion don't respond to most of my emails and if they do they are badly written and all they will say is that they are waiting on delivery. I have tried ringing them numerous times and the one time I managed to get through it was to someone who could barely speak english and just kept repeating that they were waiting on delivery as if it was some kind of mantra. They weren't prepared to discuss the possibility of the parcel being lost.

I have tried to contact Yodel and they won't discuss any form of compensation with me as their contract is with Furniture in Fashion and not me.

Do I have a leg to stand on here? I'm down £120 and I feel like i've been scammed. I wish i'd never ordered from this company, I've since looked into them and it seems there are numerous bad reviews of them and other people have had similar experiences to me.

If THEY paid for and sent Yodel, then THEY have to bear the cost of their courier losing the goods. I would google for 'letter before action' and send one via post (http://www.furnitureinfashion.net/contact-us-i-11.html), informing them that they have 30 days (or something similar) to refund you then you will be taking them to the small claims court.

How did you pay for it? If credit or debit card contact your card issuer for a chargeback or section 75 claim as appropriate. If PayPal raise a claim through them.

I paid for it through Paypal but they turned down my claim as although I have a tracking number to prove i've sent the table back they also require proof of delivery and as Yodel have lost the parcel this isn't going to happen...

You need to make it clear to PayPal that the retailer arranged the courier, therefore you don't need to provide proof of delivery only proof of posting/collection. The retailer is liable once their courier takes possession of it.

Do you know if this is definitely the case? I can't find anything stating this on the Paypal website.

Thanks Poppie, I did this but they've since deleted my comment and blocked me from commenting on their page!

And yet, they get good reviews on eBay ..
They have responded to lots of other bad reviews by saying they are fabricated..
    They've got a Wordpress blog

It looks like the eBay shop is run seperately-would it be worth phoning them to explain the communication problems you are having

I've since come across a lot of the bad reviews. Really wish i'd had the foresight to check them out before I ordered.
