Car Insurance Renewal with a not settled accident claim

Trying to get renewal quotes for car 2. Last May DW had an accident in Car 1 (different policy and company) which is yet to be settled. Insurer for Car 1 says until claim is settled they can not tell us how much the claim cost - not even ballpark.

What should we put in for the claim details on the quote search websites?

"Not known", or if they insist on a figure put in an approximate one and explain to your chosen insurer that the claim is not finalised before buying the policy

On the meerkat site generally you can say non fault claim and amount unknown etc for the payout.

I think I was on confused.com and you could choose not settled but it still instisted on an amount I will try the meercats.

In terms of amount afaik there are no injury claims and the tp is not claiming for damage to their vehicle but not only has liability not been accepted but also the original repair to our car was of poor quality and so it was sent back and apparently our insurer and the repairer have not yet agreed the payment for that repair so can not tell me if it is 2k or 5k or more....

On accidents we've had that have been settled, I have never been able to find out the cost of the repair; just had to guess in the end.
