Have I missed my bargain for good?

Hi everyone,
First time poster, long time MSE fan. I've been looking at Heathrow -> Atlanta flights for a bit and caught a bargain from the BA sale on Sunday eve of approx. £360 per head for 10 Feb - 16 Feb. These dates can't really be changed as me and my partner are going to a wedding. The next day the flights went back to £540 or so  So, please tell me - have I missed my bargain completely or do these prices fluctuate a lot?
I was going to wait at max til the end of this week really. Is there a good time to buy (like specifically on a Wednesday or a weekend?). I may have to count my losses and go with Virgin Atlantic for approx. the same price.
Thanks all - apologies if I've posted in the wrong place.

Nobody can know for sure but this late in the game I would say it's unlikely that prices will come down again.
There's no best day to buy of the week to buy.0 -
where are you in the UK?
you can sometimes get creative (due the mad airline pricing)
BA LHR-ATL rtn £569
BA MAN-LHR-ATL rtn £435 (same flights LHR-ATL) (£491 if return to LHR not MAN)
BA EDI-LHR-ATL rtn £435 (£493 back to LHR)
BA GLA-LHR-ATL rtn £433 (£489 back to LHR)0 -
Take a look at KLM from Manchester with one change. Less than £400.
Also, look at the Iberia web site for BA routes. They are often cheaper than BA for the same seat.0 -
Thanks all. We are bargain hunters but not willing to increase the time it takes to get to Atlanta from London I'm afraid! Thanks a lot for your help guys, I really appreciate it
PS what is KLM like to fly with? Do they codeshare?0 -
Klm codeshare with AF and Delta. Www.airlinequality.com has reviews and https://www.seatguru.com seat plans.Posts are not advice and must not be relied upon.0

BA from MAN would involve a change of plane at LHR; KLM would involve a change at AMS. Since AMS is just about the most convenient and best-organised of large airports for a change of plane, while the exact reverse is true of LHR, it is possible that a routing on KLM might actually be faster.
Note that KLM and Air France are actually the same company. Air France, however, have their hub in Paris CDG which is a dreadful airport: avoid a change of 'planes there if your time has any value.0 -
I know you said you wanted to fly direct but.......
for your dates there are flights Dublin to Atlanta for £250 return - add on a cheap Ryanair flight to Dublin and it's still a bargain and the saving might just be worth the creative routing !
https://www.kayak.co.uk is where I found it but google flights are probably worth a look tooI Would Rather Climb A Mountain Than Crawl Into A Hole
MSE Florida wedding .....no problem0 -
You could also do US immigration/pre-clearance at Dublin, so overall could be faster. Combine with an evenings stopover to enjoy the first night of the holiday.
Without stopover, I did a £10 Ryanair flight from Manchester to catch an international that went through the Heathrow and it all worked out well.0 -
