Things missed by surveyor. Do I have any options?

I have bought a house a shortwhile ago. I did pay for a Homebuyers Report at that time of the purchase
There are two things thta the report did not pick up.
Both to me were quiet obvious and kinfd of telling me tha tteh surveyor did not do a great job.
One was the damaged floorboards in the storage room where the surveyor stated the flooring was fine in the house. It can be easily seen it is not as soon as you open the door in to the storage room.
The second bit is that there are doubleglazed windows everryewhere in the property, whilst there is a metallic very poor quality window in the bathroom.
I have contacted one of the no win - no fee legal firms but they said they would omnly deal with the cases where teh damage is over 10K which is unlikely to be the case in my situation.
So I was wondering if I had any chances for any compensation?

If the floorboard problem was obvious to you why did you need the surveyor to tell you about it? Unless the floorboard issue was not present when you viewed the house, if so maybe it was not present when the surveyor viewed the house.
Not sure about the window. Do they have a responsibility to point out that it is a metal window? Not sure on that. But again as it was obvious to you then presumably you already knew about it.0 -
I guess the first step would be to contact the surveyor and see what they say.
Getting a solicitor involved would be a last resort. Even then, if it ends up in the small claims court, you probably wouldn't get your solicitors costs back.0 -
If the floorboard is easily seen, why didn't you spot it?0

If the Homebuyer's report was provided as part of a mortgage application then the surveyor was working for the lender rather than for you, and so has zero liability towards you.
Perhaps you could pursue the vendor?0 -

As it is a homebuyer's report these items are trifling and would be clearly visible to you when you did your viewing.If you are querying your Council Tax band would you please state whether you are in England, Scotland or Wales0

I have to say, these things sound like small fry to me. They're nothing that is dangerous or is going to put you massively out of pocket to fix. Personally I'd just forget about these things and fix where necessary. Legal proceedings or even a complaint are not worth the trouble for this.0

Damaged floorboards (as long as the floor isn't going to collapse) and "poor quality" fittings are nothing to do with the surveyor. What did you think a Homebuyer's Report was??0

It was ovious when I have moved in to the property and was able to have a detailed look. During the viewing I only had about 15 minutes.
The purpose of Homebuyers report is to spot any obvious issues. What is the point of paying for it then?
