    Congratulations!

I'm trying to cast my mind back to when I last bought, and I don't think there is really anything much in the way of paperwork. If there are any guarantees / certificates associated with things like double glazing, damp proofing etc then the sellers may have already passed on copies via their solicitors as part of the selling process - if not, you may find some left in the house waiting for you.

Your solicitor / conveyancer should now ensure that the land registry records for the property are updated to show you as owner but I don't think you get a copy, although he should write and let you know it's happened - this can take a few weeks. Once on the registry, paper deeds are generally no longer retained so you probably won't get any

Don't be surprised if your first mortgage payment is much higher than usual.

    Hi

Just endorsing what 'Poohsticks' says, Land Registry should be the final piece in the jigsaw. Legal ownership is official when we process/complete solicitors' application.

We normally issue an official copy of the new/ updated register to solicitors on completion of their appln. But you can go online via our 'Find A Property' service to check the register https://www.gov.uk/search-property-information-land-registry
