How to unmatch with Match.com!

HOPEFUL-HEATHER

I had a look at this dating website, Match.com. You can register to have a look for free but to subscribe you have to pay.
I decided to delete my profile from my phone app. IMPOSSIBLE!
I've found loads of posts of people complaining to the website that they are a con because they only advise you how to unsubscribe from a laptop etc (which I don't have).
I've taken my photos down but just want to unsubscribe from the entire website.
Anyone know how???

Can't you use the browser on your phone to do it on their website, rather than the app? (I don't know, I've not tried it myself, but if you can do it via a browser on a computer the same should work from a browser on a phone, unless the site punts you to a mobile version of the site that lacks the requisite page)
I've always had computers (well, for 34 years, since I was 12) so the idea of not having one other than in a telephone is incomprehensible to me :eek:Proud member of the wokerati, though I don't eat tofu.Home is where my books are.Solar PV 5.2kWp system, SE facing, >1% shading, installed March 2019.Mortgage free July 20230 -
Ha my laptop died bout 3 months ago.
On their actual site there is a section, how to delete profile from mobile. Then goes to describe how to do it from a laptop!??? That's where all the complaints are from users.
I hadn't actually downloaded the app on my phone so did that thinking that I could do it from there. You can't. I've tried everything 0 -
I've just googled 'how to delete match.com account from mobile phone app' and quite a few articles come up. I can't try them, as I don't have an account, but maybe if you google the same wording, there might be something there that you haven't yet tried.0

Yup that's pretty much what I Googled and it takes you to the page titled
How to delete account from mobile device.
You then read it and goes somewhere along the lines of,
On your computer hover your mouse over your user name and a drop box will appear.
I've tried about 9/10 links and basically the same info. This is where there are a number of very irate users who can't delete from their phone app.0 -

What happens when you try this?
Other than that, delete it on a pc at work / the library / a friend's house.0 -
Delete on PC at library, then uninstall app.

Can you not just request the desktop site from the browser on your phone?
I know I can in Google Chrome on my phone.“Time is intended to be spent, not saved” - Alfred Wainwright0 -

Have you had any luck so far?
I know this is not the same, but I had similar problem with an old twitter account that I wanted to change, the thing is that I joined twitter on my iPad, and I wanted to delete it to open up another account and I found that I couldn't do it, there was nowhere on the twitter account for me to delete my profile using my iPad. I logged into my account on my iMac and lo and behold I could finally delete my account and was able to open up a new account.
Maybe it is the same for match.com website?
Hope that has helped you. xx0 -
I'd second the public library suggestion.
If that's not possible, have you thought about removing any identifiable data ie pics, making the required information standard and then just not logging into the site ever again?Value-for-money-for-me-puhleeze!
