Problem sending emails

I have Microsoft Outlook 2016.
I can't send any emails even though I can receive them. I can receive a 'test message'. When I go into my email account and try to send the following happens.
It can establish a network connection,
then it reads
An encrypted connection to your mail server is not available,
then it reads
click Next to attempt using an unencrypted connection.
Any help would be appreciated

What settings have you put in?Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0

My Account Type IMAP ( but this is greyed out) but nothing in it's place
I/C server IMAP 993 encrypted connection SSL
O/G server SMTP 465 encrypted connection SSL0 -
If you pop onto the btopenworld web site, there should be, on the FAQ's, settings to be used for IMAP or POP3. Shouldn't the incoming server have something like mail.btopenworld?0

I checked the BT settings and added another account but the IMAP is still greyed out and I can't send messages. I can still receive a 'test message'
Do you think my registry corrupted0 -
Who is your ISP?

Check all of your SMTP settings are correct:
SMTP
Outgoing Mail Server: mail.btinternet.com
Port: 465 (this may not be automatically populated on selection of SSL, so you'll need to check this)
SSL Encryption: Enabled (but not STARTTLS)
Authentication: PLAIN
Username: your email address including the @btinternet or @btopenworld.com part
Password: your btinternet password0 -
I've printed your settings and I'll have a go.
Thanks0
