Facebook ESET

I get this message when trying to log on to facebook. My computer is clean, so is there anyway I can bypass this, I can only log on if I download ESET and I don't like being forced to do this as it's not necessary. Being a cynic I'm guessing Facebook gets something out of this.

Your Computer Needs to Be Cleaned

It looks like your computer is being affected by malware. We’ll help you fix the problem to keep your account secure and prevent malware from spreading to friends.

Malware is software that tries to steal personal information and causes problems when you use Facebook. Clicking or sharing links that contain spam can give your computer malware.

Here's how it works: if the device you're using to access our services is behaving suspiciously and shows signs of a possible malware infection, a message will appear offering you an anti-malware scan for your device. You can run the scan, see the scan results, and disable the software all without logging out of Facebook—making it seamless and easy to clean up an infected device.

Unfortunately I imagine it also might be possible for malware writers to mimic this behaviour, so it may or may not be legitimate, and it's never a good idea to click on a link or a pop-up you're not expecting.

But I suggest it is a good time for the OP to do a scan with one or other of the anti-malware products.

Thanks, that doesn't appear to be a problem.
