    Well it's been a while since I posted :D

My original goal was to be down to £110,000 by the 31st of December. Yep...that didn't happen. I may have got fed up with the house and had the whole upstairs re-carpeted and painted, etc instead. :rotfl: We have been busy, busy and completely re-decorated the boys' room as well as turning DH's office into a playroom. Even though we didn't meet our OP target, I am so happy with how the upstairs of our house looks now that it was most definitely worth it. :j

    Anyway, onto the March Update!

    Overpayments - £1366.07
    Standard payment - £297.59

Total paid off in March = £1663.66
    :T:T::T

    Mortgage balance now - £110,000

Very, very pleased with amount paid off this month. The biggest amount we've paid off yet. :j

Hope everyone is well. Even though I haven't been posting, I've been keeping up with everyone's diaries daily. :)

Made an OP of £30 received from MSE energy club cashback :)

Which means... Goodbye 110k...hello 109Ks

Feels so good to be in single figures now, on the countdown to 100k :j

AFrayedKnot, I still follow your 0000s rule :D Although now I'm back to just one zero ;)

  • Since my last post I have been busy busy decluttering, sorting and selling. I have also discovered the joy of Facebook selling, after many years of insisting that I didn't need to join Facebook :D I found a fab local twins selling group which is perfect for everything I have two of (which is a lot!) Sold my double pushchair and one of the cots (I may have kept the other one..you know...just in case :o)

So, total to Op is £250 - making my balance £109,720 :T

Got a good feeling that we will get the balance down to the £108,000s by the end of the month :)

Loved reading your diary, Lou! I know the feeling of holding onto baby things just incase :o Our LO is edging towards 15 months so we have a lot of things that I know I really should sell, but even though we have no plans for anymore, I can't quite let go of the idea of no more babies for us.

Good luck with your target, can't wait to start our MFW diary on here!
  • Thanks Cinny - nice to know that people are following our journey :)

I am holding onto a few items that I particularly loved when the boys were small, also toys and clothes. My husband is keen to get rid of everything and clear the garage out completely, however, I told him that if we do have another baby then it will save us a lot of money ;):D To be honest I go back and forth...most of the time the boys are wonderful and I tell my husband that I would like ten more please :D But some days it is so chaotic that I just think...no way :rotfl:

The phrase 'the best things in life come for free' couldn't be truer this Easter holidays. DH's best friend gave him a one man tent in excellent condition that he was no longer using. He thought that the boys would love it to play in and he was right :) They have literally sat in this tent since Friday afternoon and it has provided a huge amount of (free) entertainment :D :rotfl:

Meanwhile, it was payday on Thursday and I have made a £300.02 OP :T: which came from tidying up accounts.
