  • It's the last day of the month and, as planned, we have officially left the £113ks! :T

    Goodbye £113k....hello £112k

In my humble princess opinion ;) every £1k should be celebrated. I find this mfw journey so much easier to get my head around when I think of it in terms of £1ks. That way I know that I only have 112 more to go and it doesn't seem as gigantic an undertaking. :)

In other news, the boys have gone off to pre-school dressed as spooky (but ever so cute ;)) skeletons. They were having a litttle halloween party today which they were very much looking forward to. :)

Congratulations on leave the 3s !
Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!
  • Well done on hitting the 112s!

  • Thanks Watty and dfod :)

Well no trick or treaters have been tonight. However, the boys did come home from pre-school with bags full of lollipops and Haribo  I had no idea toddlers ate such things - I must have been the most boring mummy when I gave them halloween gingerbread to share out. :o:rotfl:

  • Well done PL! You are quite right, every £1k should be celebrated.

We had a similar experience this week with Halloween. DS came home with some Halloween sweeties from pre-school, he has never had a lolly in his life until then! I just don't see the point of them - they rot your teeth and don't fill you up! He "ate" it for around 5 mins then threw it away - can't say I blame him!
    MFW :)

  • Lovely afternoon with the boys spent at a birthday party yesterday. Gigantic soft play area with a birthday lunch. Small spend on present of £4.99 (huge playdoh box that was reduced from £15), and I used wrapping paper left over from the boys' birthday earlier in the year. All in all, a wonderfully low spend day in exchange for lots of fun and yummy food. :)

Sold an item on Ebay for £15.05 which has been OPed, as well as another OP of £14.49 to round the balance down. :)

  • Ahhh....the dreaded chicken pox has arrived for my twins :eek::eek::eek:

In MFW news - I sold another Ebay item and so £38.43 has been sent (and rounded up to £50) to OP. Feeling positive this month about OPs as I still have some money to transfer and cheques to cash.

You lot are so organised about Christmas...and I have only bought a few things. I need to make a definitive Christmas list and start looking at meal planning too as we are having family over on Christmas Eve and Christmas morning. :)

  • Well done on the OP-ing. At least the pox will be done and dusted. My two helpfully had it over Christmas a few years back!

  • Thanks dfod. Not really sure what to expect on the pox front. They seem perfectly happy at the moment with very few spots. I meant to ask you before - how old are your twins and are they boys, girls or one of each?

I'm really enjoying the MFW journey at the moment and feel like I've finally picked up momentum with OPs. Because we're OPing to build up equity so we can move house in a few years time, I suppose it makes me feel like we've really got something to aim for. :)

  • One of each and just about to turn 6! It flies by, I can't believe they are nearly 6.

My two were pretty good, porridge oat baths worked a treat. Twice a day. Another thing I did was to give them a paintbrush and they painted the cream on their spots, made it a fun activity and kept them occupied for a good 20 minutes!
