Annual Travel Insurance

Hi everyone,
Assuming that:
I've got annual travel insurance expiring this month;
I'm off on holiday next month;
and I break my leg tomorrow and hence can't go on holiday.
Do I have any cover ? The holiday is outwith the period of the existing insurance, but of course any new insurance would be caught by the "pre-existing" condition clause. If I'm not covered, then that would appear to make annual travel insurance a bad idea.
Any thoughts appreciated. I feel as if I'm missing something simple.

You're covered until your policy expires. If you need to cancel for medical reasons that are covered by your insurance up to that date then it's ok (normal criteria applying obviously).
Unless it was a very complicated break, and you don't travel for a month, you may not get medical professional telling you that you're not fit to travel though.0 -
What does your policy document say
e.g.
The Post Office annual travel policy states that you are covered for trips booked and taken within the period of insurance.
The Period of Insurance is for 12 months
during which You are covered for each Trip
You book and undertake within that period
subject to a maximum of 17 consecutive
days unless otherwise stated on Your Policy0
