Letting property to daughter

    Maybe not happier, but in any case entitled to treat it as a breach of the conditions of the mortgage/insurance policy, as it will generally be a requirement that the OP continues to occupy the property as their main residence.

    I think that if somebody worked away during the week say and returned at weekends or when convenient, it could still be regarded as his main residence?

    I know someone whose home is in the north but who works in London during the week - his insurer and mortgagee are aware and content.

    Yes it could, but as the OP said they're "moving out" I don't think it's what's happening here.
