How can people be allowed to delete posts that simply tell the truth?

Their Facebook page, their rules. Plenty of other places to post dissenting opinions, and if there are people looking on the WASPI page for unbiased information, more fool them.

It does usefully show what the campaign is about. It is not about fairness. They want their State Pension earlier. They believe that if they demand it loudly enough they will get it. Dissenting voices distract those who may listen to their demands, so they must be silenced. It's democracy in action.

Trying to engage them in debate, on their Facebook page or otherwise, is a waste of time. They're not interesterd in discussing life expectancy or gender equality or the national debt. They've decided they are entitled, anyone who disagrees with them is a selfish !!!!!!! trying to deny them their right. The tone of their social media campaigning and iron control of their Facebook page demonstrates this.

That said, while I sympathise with Frances Coppola, complaining about getting abuse on Twitter is a bit like complaining about getting shot on Call of Duty.

WASPI still not happy that anyone could dare to not agree with them.

Apropos of not a lot .... I just found some toys by this pram - should I put them back in or will they be back on the floor in 5 minutes?

    From the Daily Mirror article:
Until recently, women could expect to claim their state pension five years earlier than men, at 60, but this has all changed.
    Recently?
Since when has 20 years been classed as 'recently'? smiley-confused013.gif

There's no wonder there's such confusion when journalists write such tosh!

But according to WASPI, it's the government's fault that journalists write tosh and the government (i.e. you and I) must pay to make their tosh into reality.

It is 20 years since the legislation changed but relative to that in is "relatively recently" that people have reached SPa who are impacted by it.

It depends how recent your recent is!

To be more precise it's everybody's fault but their own. They also just want all the good bits of equality - no thanks to the rest.
  • Oh dear, oh dear, oh dear. The debate kicks off with a reference to the 1995 changes, not 2011:

Black: "The 1995 Act technically gave women 15 years notice but the problem was nobody knew this."

Oh dear indeed! There is no way they are going to make changes to the 1995 ones and it looks like it will be used as the excuse to also not look at the 2011 ones. Just what I was afraid of!
