I'm looking to cancel my sky account i phoned sky an hour ago and told them that i want to cancel as i am now out of contract and they said that they can get the monthly cost down from £38 to £18 which sounds good but i'll need to take out another contract which i don't want to do.
Does anyone know of any satellite receiver boxes which i can pay out right and then be able to choose from a long list of channels like movies and sports?

Do you mean paid for services or illegal use of streams.0

A NOWTV Box offers you sky movies\sports and entertainment packs on a pay as you go service.
You could also invest in a Chromecast and cast directly from your pc for movies, catchup or entertainment.:A:dance:1+1+1=1:dance::A

If Sky have offered you Sky sports and Symovies for £18 per month, you have been given a very given a very good deal.0

Nope. You've got Sky, and Freesat, and free to air satellite. Sky owns the rights to broadcast the sports and movies you're after, I bet, in the UK, so anything you're looking for will be to try to circumvent that. Freesat carries all the major channels (except Dave, which you can get on Freeview) including some in HD. Obviously there's less choice of movies and sports, but recording, on demand and even Netflix is now available.0

I agree with this. Because even a monthly pay sports with now tv will set you back more than £30, not including the movies!QUIDCO £2827 paid out since October 2007:D0 -

No this is purely the family pack. Out of all the sky channels i only really watch Sky one and the on demand service for catch up tv.0 -

you may get a good offer if you just give your notice/cancel and see what they come back with later.QUIDCO £2827 paid out since October 2007:D0 -

To put things into perspective, I pay £22-50 per month for Sky (sports and entertainment package). I am on a 50% off deal.
I have to be very careful what I say now because MSE do not like people telling people about 'illegal' TV streams. If you do a google search, you will find info with regards aligning your satellite dish to a non-Sky satellite, which will enable you to get a lot of p/ship football, other football and movies free of charge.
You will need permission as your satellite dish will need to be larger than your Sky dish.

If thats all you watch on sky, then NowTV would work out cheaper.
The entertainment pack will include Sky One and the on demand stuff as well as some other channels for £6.99/month
You can also get a NowTV box which will also include all the catch up services.
You can then also add movies for £9.99. Although if you cancel they often offer it at half price0
