A new insurer on the scene for temporary (even hourly) car insurance is Cuvva (https://cuvva.co/). I think you need an iPhone to work the app to arrange cover but it may be worth checking out.

Sorry just noticed earlier posts about non-UK licence so it may not be any good for you as they don't even insure people with Northern Ireland licences.

You need to read the policy document to make sure he will be covered. Or contact the company and confirm it.

It would be a oostly mistake if you needed to make a claim and found out they refused the claim.

If he isn't a current permanent resident in the UK you would need to speak to your insurers to check this is ok to ensure that a claim wouldn't be invalidated.

Do you insurers offer temporary cover?
