    I already answered that. If your contract says you can be laid off with no pay you can be. Obviously, the opposite is true - if it doesn't you can't be, but that only means you are entitled to guaranteed pay as already outlined above. Or you can be forced to take holidays. But you can't be forced to do anything without some form of payment. Although obviously that depends on what the employers response to a refusal would be - and if you are going to risk it, it needs to be all of you. If you can be picked off one by one, you will be.
