Consumer Rights Act and Services?

A friend is running a service based business, I was talking about the new consumer rights act, and I see that the customer has the right for a 30 day refund on a defective product.

Does the 30 day time period also apply to services? If not what would the time period be?

You will need to be more specific, i.e a service can be fitting a kitchen.


If the kitchen has a few faults then no, this would not be subject to an automatic refund. In cases like this the fitter would have to be given the chance to put it right before any other action can be taken.

Why not suggest to your friend that he reads MSE's Consumer Rights guide?
