exchanging goods

I bought a mobile phone for £349 and it was faulty. They exchanged it for a brand new one but when scanned it was sell for £279. Am I entitled to the £70 refund? Had I got my money returned I could of bought it again £70 cheaper. What's my rights pls?

Had it gone up to £429 would you have offered to pay the extra £70?
