PPI Re-calculation and original CMC

Hi, 2 years ago approx We fight any Claim got me a successful claim against CITI. I received the cheque and paid them the fee. Just before xmas I received a letter from CITI saying they had re-calculated my PPI and I am due another payment. Couple of days following their communication I received a letter from We fight any Claim stating " we recently made a claim against CITI and included a copy of the letter CITI had sent to them with the breakdowns of money to be paid ( Photocopy of CITI's letter). At no time previously did We fight any claim contact me to ask if I want to make another claim against CITI. I am aware that the government have a directive that all banks should re-calculate their payments and pay what is due to customers, which is obviously what CITI have done.
Clearly We fight any Claim did not make any contact with CITI regarding this and are just jumping on the bandwagon as CITI wrote to them being polite as they made the original claim.
Would you think I would be legally liable to pay them for some work they have obviously not done? Any Advice please!

The Govt made no such directive. The FCA instructed some of the banks to look into past complaints.Would you think I would be legally liable to pay them for some work they have obviously not done? Any Advice please!
You dont have to pay them a penny. Any attempt by them to request money from you is in breach of the claims management rules and you should complain about it.

Dunstonh, thank you very much. That is a very good document to be armed with before I contact the CMC.0

I wouldn't contact the CMC. Take the money direct from the bank and if the CMC try to claim a fee, e-mail a complaint to it, copying it in to consumer@claimsregulation.gov.uk0
