1 way car hire

does anyone know any cheap one way car hire companies offers etc between sydney and melbourne which i can book from uk? thanks oggy

    Not sure what you mean by "cheap" - rentawreck type thing or late model cars???

    We have had hire car in Oz before, also wanted to tie it up with New Zealand when we toured both countries in the one trip to get the best price, and had great difficulty finding a company that could do this.

    Eventually found Salamanda Travel (several branches in Oz) who came up with a great price, late model cars, unlimited mileage, excess only A$220, all fees and taxes included. They arranged everything with reputable car hire companies and it was all done by e-mail, quickly and with no problems. They were happy enough to deal with us here in the UK.

    I used Autoeurope for a similar trip.

    There was no one-way fee - I believe this is not often charged for trips between main cities in SE Australia.

    I can confirm what dzug posted.

    Auto Europe will do no fee one way between Sydney and Melbourne
    Their T&C's re DOW's
    DOMESTIC ONE WAYS
    * All DOWs require a minimum of 7 days rental, unless the DOW is FREE, then a 3 day minimum applies.
    * One way rentals into or out of Tasmania (Hobart, Devonport & Launceston) are not permitted. One ways between locations on Tasmania are available free of charge.
    * ANY DOMESTIC ONE WAY USING A 4X4, FWAR OR MINIVAN IS ON REQUEST and will incur a fee of approx £230! You must op-call this request.
    * The ECMR is not allowed on any one ways
    * All DOW fees are paid locally Please note in Special Requests part of voucher.

    Does anyone know of a car rental company in the USA which does one way rentals?
    We want to pick up in Las vegas and drop off in San Francisco.
