Immersion heater with no timer

I'm moving into a small flat that should be quite cheap to run - low ceilings, well insulated. It has storage heaters, and an immersion heater with an off peak switch going to one element, and a booster switch going to another element. But there are no timers on either the storage heaters or the water heater. How do I make sure they only come on at night?

On an E7 cylinder the top 20% [ish] of water is heated by the top day-rate boost element, the bottom night-rate heats the other 80% [ish] How they are switched varies mine for example is a radio four signal in my area.

It, the night-rate only should come on at night, record your (1) day-counter and (2) night-counter a couple of times a week and you will see the night rate numbers increasing in line with use, and switching on between 1200 and 0200hrs. You are on the most expensive tariff on a deemed contract with that dwellings previous supplier from the moment you move in. Make sure you submit your own readings immediately, get the cheapest tariff you can or change supplier, get an e-account and submit your readings every 6 weeks with the maximum discounts you can get.How do I make sure they only come on at night?Disclaimer : Everything I write on this forum is my opinion.
