Season ticket - credit card benefits

Like many commuters we save up every year and buy our season ticket and wounder what the best deals are in using a 12 month credit card so to earn interest on the money held in savings account and also benefit from any cash back or points for use in supermarkets. A typical season ticket for me is £4000 and currently only the first £150 or so will get me cash back on Santander credit card. I am even thinking about Amex Necter card over the Amex 5% cashback cards as the later has more complicated T&C that could trip me over. Some of you here must be commuters and I would like to know what you have done.
