    Hello,

Just a quick update, called her insurance and they admitted liability directly - they said i can take it to any garage of my choice. called my insurancce after - wont affect my no claim bonus, but premium might rise a few £ as car was involved in an accident - they even offered legal help / hire car / main dealer service.

see the garage on Friday and take it from there.

    thanks for all your comments!

Even after a fault incident (no other cars involved, insurers informed, no claim made) I was able to get a lower premium the next renewal with another provider.

Sam Vimes' Boots Theory of Socioeconomic Unfairness:

People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.

They cannot increase your current premium.

When it comes to renewal, don't, but use the MSE guide to find the best price from the whole of the market

    Hello,

the insurance paid via cheque for the repairs, however, now I have constantly someone calling with my details to take pictures of my car + damage. I called her and my insurance, but both say they didnt hire anyone.

Is this something normal or some weird stuff going on?

    cheers,

Where does she say she is calling from?
  • didnt understand the name where she was calling from, asked twice, but it was none of the insurers.

they just called asking for pictures of the car, the accident damage, serial nr and meter read...

seems quite dodgy. anyone experience with that??

my neck does fine, thanks for asking :)

Just sounds like one of the usual ambulance chasers you get. Either get them to explain who exactly they represent or simply ignore.
