What is my offence code

Hi,

I recently was stopped by police and was given 3 points on my licence for what he said was 'careless driving'. I recently got a letter in post stating the same. I now have to send my licence so that they can process the points and accept the offence.

The letter states that the offence code is RT88575. When I looked at my insurance to add the conviction for careless driving, I have to select CD10, CD20 or CD30.

How will I know my offence code for insurance purposes? Will it show online against my licence? Any information would be appreciated please.

yes it will show on your licence when its returned , the RT code is probably an internal number used by the police force in your area and is non applicable to your insurance Co. they will want the CD code and the number , the higher the number the higher the loading next time you renew
