Cardiff City Parking

Hi

Can anybody recommend a safe area to park for a football match at Cardiff City please. Not too keen on paying the £8 that the official parking apparently costs.

There is a retail park next to the stadium but they operate parking eye restrictions. This seems to be more heavily policed on match days as the parking situation becomes bedlam. If you do park on site, be prepared for queues to get in and out.

A lot of people park for free on Leckwith Hill which is in walking distance of Ninian Park. There are also plenty of residential streets which do not have parking restrictions within walking distance of the stadium.

Whilst the distance between city centre and stadium is walkable, parking there would not be substantially cheaper.

ETA - what is known as Leckwith Hill locally is officially Leckwith Road - go under the a4232 flyover, the road crosses the river Ely and then heads towards Llandough
