Oak furniture land

Hi,
Just bought a sofa from oak furniture land. I don't know much about sofas but happy with what I selected, I think. I was more really irrated by the salesperson trying to push the five year warrentry. Would not let up, really pushy. I was tempted as it was 10% of the 599. And seemed to cover a lot even cleaning a red wine stain with no excess apparently.
Seemed all a bit to good to be true for £50. Anyone had any experience with this company and their five year warrentry? I was told I had to decide then. Which was the nail in the coffin for getting it but feel I'm sure I could call back and get it. Any thoughts?

Surely it was £59.99 if its 10% of £599?0 -
'apparently' funny word that.
What he said if he was being pushy is probably very different to what is written down, they bank on you
not reading all the terms and conditions and just believing what they say and sign it.
I would just forget about it to be honest.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -
Do you have "Accidental Damage" cover on your home insurance?
If not, add it on.
It should cost a lot less than £50 and should cover most of your property, not just one sofa.
Read some of these links and search the Insurance Section of MSE.0 -

I bought them last year, within 3 months(!) the couch and armchair were broken structurally, which was surprising. We ended up getting the whole suite replaced after 2 months of waiting. There was also a bit of confusion as they attempted to repair on the same day we received the new suite.0 -

Not a good start is it....... I hope the quality of the sofa materials are better than the quality of their Oak.....:D0 -

.
That's a good point, think it does. Will check. W
Yeah not impressed with the sales person at the shop. Couple of other things have come to light that show they were just constantly lying throughout to try and up sell for instance saying they would only give me one date for delivery and if I couldn't do it id be charged for delivery unless I get the express delivery. Which is a lie. Rang them today and not true at all. I only get charged if I rearrange within 48 hours.
Not sure why I'm surprised, one of the reason I avoid shops usually and buy everything online.0 -
Wouldn't fancy a sofa made out of oak.0

They were on BBC watchdog couple weeks ago about quality/ repairs.
I personally would avoid...0 -
