Chargecard best deals?

Now after going back through the amex cards it turns out there is a CHARGE CARD with upto 54 days interest free its the Amex Gold business card. so not all the charge cards are the same.0
-
The 'up to 54 days' refers to the longest possible period between making a transaction and having the settle the balance. This would be for transactions made immediately after one statement, and paying the next statement on the last possible day.
All charge cards are interest-free by design, as the issuer makes their money from merchant fees and annual service charges.0 -
Well upto 54 days sounds good to me thanks for claryifying how they make their money on it timbosaurus0

An important thing to bear in mind is that you can do the same thing with any credit card - there is always going to be a period of just under two months between the first day of a statement period, and the payment for that period coming due.0

Thanks for all your replies

Anthorn - No to status symbol, main reasoning was to obtain a lengthy interest free period then pay off balance in full with another credit cards balance transfer ( non-amex card)
Just be careful when you transfer your balance. There had been a lot of problem when people wanted to transfer the balance from Amex to another as Amex has a 15-digit card instead of 16. There are a few threads about this on this forum...have quick look through first.0 -
Businesses primarily use Amex for the flexibility they offer on card issue and allow them to analyse spends easily.
I've not seen any benefits from using Amex or the Amex network, when travelling, that were not paid for via an annual fee.
I use Amex for their cashback offers and if they finished, I'd ditch them without a second thought. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0
