You can't completely switch your current account and keep it open. At least, not under CASS, the Current Account Switch Service. A feature of that service is that it closes your old account, and you normally only qualify for a joining bonus if you use CASS.0 -
Presumably having a FD credit card would be a good move, even if you never used the credit card as it would avoid a monthly £10 fee.0
