First Direct £10 a month fee after 6 months..?

  • I keep £1 in a normal savings account with them. Not charged a fee, and maintain access to the regular saver.

    You can't completely switch your current account and keep it open. At least, not under CASS, the Current Account Switch Service. A feature of that service is that it closes your old account, and you normally only qualify for a joining bonus if you use CASS.

    Presumably having a FD credit card would be a good move, even if you never used the credit card as it would avoid a monthly £10 fee.

    It would avoid the fee, but they might cancel the card if you never use it.
