If he has a trade he has no need to be begging his £73.10 a week JSA, Agencies are over run with vacancies for trades ranging from handymen to skilled trades.I do Contracts, all day every day.0

He did wrong, but that seems an incredibly harsh outcome which would lead me to believe that it was used as an excuse to dismiss him for other reasons.
If they were genuinely very satisfied with his work and dismissed him only for this reason, then it really makes you wonder what employment has come down to and it is no surprise that there are an seriously increasing number of people ending up off sick for stress and anxiety, with the cost of it being born by the companies.0 -

The simple act of filling in the wrong start time on his time sheet is classed as gross misconduct as it is, in effect, fraud. I'm not suggesting that there was any intent but that would be very difficult to prove. Had he simply taken 30 min break when he should only have had 15 min it would have been different as he could legitimately claim that he was unaware of the different entitlements.
Hopefully he will be back in work quickly.0
