hiddenshadow and Moneyfordreams Thank you for your comments. The reaction to the family stuff has been very differing. Some people have been 'yea so, what's the big deal', and others have been 'wow how awesome'! My son was one of the 'whats the big deal' type :rotfl:

So I arrived in Brussels, after being really late for my flight, and missing the bag drop. So I had to take my bag on as hand baggage, which was fine as it isn't big. But it had half the contents of my bathroom in it. Oh the pain as they made me choose between all my toiletries and I had to leave behind face cream, toothpaste and several other things. :(

Spends yesterday were some groceries, which included a bottle of wine for no 3 brothers b'day. I also had some b'day cards and pressies for my niece to buy, but that came out of the pressie pot. I shopped at John Lewis, before I went I downloaded the App and joined their loyalty scheme, as a welcome I got a free coffee and cake, so that was lunch sorted!

DD noted that her uni room comes with a TV, so I don't need to buy one now :T

I've just transferred the deposit for my heating, so the current account is looking very depleted, roll on next pay day :(

£176.42 left until the end of the month that's £9.28 a day.

    Thank you xx

The family union BBQ on Saturday was really lovely. It's wonderful getting to know a whole new family.
DD is duly installed at Uni, she text to say that today was quite boring and she can't wait to start learning. I did give her £60, as her loan hasn't come through yet and she's no money. She does have a job to go to though as she's been transferred with her part time job, and she can work locally.

£565 expenses in my account today, so paid straight off the CC and another expense claim in for £360 today.

Today I've done some grocery shopping, it's quite expensive being at home when I'm not working! And clearing the flat ready for the heating being fitted.

I've also had acupuncture on my back, and now only have £74.63 to last to the end of the month. Which certainly won't be enough for 2 weeks at home. Mmmm, I need to get thinking!

£74.63 left until the end of the month that's £5.33 a day :rotfl:.

Thank you for your continued support SSG.

Today all the carpets came up at the flat, ready for the heating tomorrow. I went to see a friend for a catch up. This afternoon I sunbathed and did sod all, I am on holiday after all. It was lovely!

Spoke with DD, who seems fine, she says she's OK for money at the moment, we did a food shop before I left her on Sunday and she said drink is super cheap in freshers week.

I listed a chest of drawers on FB and got £50 for them so that should help, and listed some books on Fleabay.

I also opened a CHIP account, which seems to take money from your account when it thinks you can afford it and saves it up for you. On opening the account it immediately deducted £7.32, no idea why that amount, or why it thinks I can afford it. but anyhow, we'll see how we get on with it!

Tomorrow I'm cycling with a friend for the day so will need some spends for coffee and cake obviously.

Just caught up with your diary!

All going well - but how funny about the money from the CHIP account. I wonder how it worked out that amount to deduct?:)

Hope you had a good weekend.

Thank you, I had a great weekend. I've no idea how CHIP works it out, but I now have £39.44 stashed away in there so all is good!

Staying at home for a two week holiday is not cheap by any means! Particularly as I purchased a new water proof walking coat, as my old one wasn't water proof any more, even though I'd redone it with that wash in and spray stuff many times. I can't tell you how much it was, but it will last me hopefully the rest of my life!!!

£20.33 left until the end of the month that's £6.77 a day. However as I'm walking all weekend in the middle of nowhere, I won't be spending any of it, so it looks like I might make it. I'm also owed £120 from 2 people who haven't paid for the walking weekend yet, so that'll go someway towards my jacket.

Have a great weekend all x

Well, a bit of a gap between postings. I admit, when things slide, I stop posting.
    So here's the slidy stuff
    1. I haven't put anything away in savings for 2 months now, I haven't had the spare cash.
    2. The CC is around £5k, but I haven't checked it recently.
    3. I owe the carpet shop for the flooring, but I don't know how much I need to go and see them. I don't have the money put aside.
    4. The thermostat for the heating hasn't arrived hey, so I don't know how much I'm using and I haven't programmed in yet. Also I still owe the sparky £500, but as he hasn't finished I haven't paid him. I don't have the money put aside.
    5. I went on Tinder and started dating again.
    6. My credit rating is now officially 'very poor'.

So I just feel a bit stuck in a rut, and cba to do a great deal about anything.

The good points are I spose...
    1. Nearly 4% paid off mortgage 2
    2. £85.47 stashed away by CHIP
    3. £291.25 left in the spends account, that's £13.28 a day until payday.

I've been working away so much I haven't really had time to spend anything!
