The sky offer that wasn't...

I recently decided to drop my sky to subscription as I don't really watch it much, but was keeping my broadband and line rental.
I received a letter stating I could keep the sky+ functionality of my box if I agreed to keep paying the line rental for the next 12 months. Seemed reasonable!
Phoned them up to sort it out but each time I was passed around and told to ring back another day. Finally on the 5th attempt I was fed up and thought I had had enough of sky's poor customer service so would change provider for my phone and broadband.
The sky rep said to give him 5 minutes and he would sort it out, he checked the account and said the sky+ functions had already been activated! I checked and he was right - yay!!
And then he told me it was an extra £10 per month. I pointed out the wording of the letter which stated unequivocally that it would be 'at no extra charge' only to be told that the wording was 'vague'! I read it out again and he agreed it did say that it would be free but that the letter was wrong.
Having gone backwards and forwards with him a few more times I decided I had had enough and have cancelled everything and will sort a new provider out - I have always found sky's products to be good but their customer service is atrocious!

I got the free Sky+ offer by email, in October, after cancelling tv and not taking up the 50% off offer, but renewed my tv , after getting a good phone/ internet deal.0
