Next shoes split - No receipt or box!

So I bought some shoes from next before christmas. Before wearing them I threw out the box which I think had the receipt in it(can't find it anywhere).
The first, and only time, I wore them the left shoe started to split where "the upper" is stitched to "the front". It's not along a stitch or anything, just through the leather.

Obviously I'm disappointed and feel they should have lasted better. They are pristine and obviously brand new apart from the tear.

Is there any point going back to them with the receipt or box? Will the replace/reimburse it or is that wishful thinking?

Next, in my experience, are very good with returns like this.

The only problem you may come across is that the shoes may have gone into the sale since you bought them, so you would only be offered the sale price.

Unless you have a bank statement/bill to show the price you paid?

Bought is to buy. Brought is to bring.
  • Go onto the 'my account' section of the website, they will show on there and that's all you will need for a faulty return. Next in store can do the same if you give them your account number :)

You don't need an account to buy shoes at Next. This is a good idea but makes too many assumptions of an account which may not exist.
  • Very true I did make an assumption there. It's because I have a next account and that's what I did in this situation. Hopefully next will be understanding regardless :)
  • If you paid by card you will have evidence of purchasing from Next, print this off and show them and it should be enough to at least get a replacement.
