ah/h, so you have not actually seen ear mites or had them diagnosed by vet? Could be a food intolerance then and she is reacting to fish

No I've not had her at the vet but the symptoms are identical to what the vet gave me drops for the last time. Shaking of head and scratching causing grazing on the brow. The problem cleared up very quickly last time after one application of the drops, which is just as well because she wouldn't let me put anymore in.

If I can get any drops in tomorrow I will give it 24 hours and see how she is, if there is no improvement then I will take her to the vet.

Podge - First Cat Timmy was like yours - he didn't like anyone 'fussing' with him. But, unlike yours he could be really aggressive! I thought swaddling him in a bath towel would stress him (my vet advised this), but it seemed to calm him. and even if OH helped me with putting ear drops in, giving tablets, eye drops, etc - we still swaddled him.
and letting him struggle his way out.............seemed to take his mind off the indignity he had just suffered!
Try it - you have nothing to lose, and the method can be adapted for taking pills.
oh and GOOD LUCK! let us know how you get on?
sorry - I am nosy! what's her name and breed/colouring? any pics?

Her name's Pepe, that's her in my avatar, I bought her from my local pet shop as a kitty. I'll let you know tomorrow how I get on with the drops or if I have to visit the vet.

This clip shows a useful method of 'de-activating' a cat:

..Guess it takes Cat back to being a kitty, carried around by Mum. Don't think it hurts Cat at all - it's a vet showing the technique.

I use a towel for my cat. He isn't a scramer, but will fight if I put him in a towel. I wrap it fairly tight(around body not neck) like a baby, my partner hold him tightly to his body and I put the drops in. I am pretty quick to it takes less than a minute. A treat after usual stops the look of betrayal ...

That's great Podge! I thought vet was mad when she said to 'swaddle' my very aggressive (to everybody except me), first cat. but, to my amazement it did work.
    Pepe is just gorgeous!
