Hi me and my husband are trying to work out our relationship but it feels as though its slipping again. when we discussed seperating he told me he'd leave the house...My question is I only work two days a week I cant work more than that as I have a disabled child...what would happen with the house?
I cant imagine the mortgage company would look favourably at me however a rented home would cost just as much, any advice would be appreciated

You could ask on the benefit forum. But would help to have more detail eg how many hours you work, what disability benefits you receive for your child etc.0 -
you could come to an agreement whereby he signs the deeds of the house to you though the mortgage would remain in both names he would have no right of access to the home as legally it is only yours..
The equity in our house was £x amount.. he would be eligible for half should we sell the house which was £y amount for each of us.. we calculated that this was the equivalent of around 18 months child support he would have to pay so he signed the house to me and didn't pay towards the children for 2 years..
essentially I bought his interest in the family home without a penny exchanging hands..
A rented home for me would cost at least double what I pay on the mortgage.LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0
