My tablet is running 4.2.2 and I have been happy with this until now. However, I want to buy a wireless activity tracker and it needs 4.3 or newer to link it.
I have searched the Lenova and other 'official' sites but can't find anywhere that tells me how to update - or, indeed, if I can?
I bought this tablet two years ago but only recently started to use it, when my laptop died on me! Still getting used to it, tbh, and have nearly resorted to throwing it at the wall on more than one occasion. In my defence, I am the wrong side of my mid sixties..........
I hope someone can help me - I don't have the funds to buy a newer tablet, just so I can track my health!!!
Thank you!

Hello there,
You aren't the wrong side of your mid-sixties. It's just that (sometimes) things aren't as straightforward as they used to be!
First and foremost back up to your data to Google (see: http://www.wikihow.com/Back-Up-an-Android-Phone-on-the-Google-Cloud). This is in case anything goes wrong during the update process.
If you open the Settings menu and scroll down to "About Tablet" under there you should see "System Update". Tap that and if an update is available you should be able to download and install it.It's not your credit score that counts, it's your credit history. Any replies are my own personal opinion and not a representation of my employer.0 -
Thank you 20aday. I've actually already done this, to no avail. My settings say System Upgrade, not Update and, after I'd done it, was told it had been successful. Not sure what it upgraded to, though??0

Something along the lines of Settings, About Tablet (at the bottom?) will tell you what version of Android you're on. It could be that 4.2.2 is the last version Lenovo released for your device, or you could have just been updated...0

looks like 4.4 might be available , there is a "scan system" on their website http://support.lenovo.com/gb/en/products/tablets/yoga-series/yoga-tablet-10-b8000Save a Rachael

Thank you! Do I download where it says 'open source code'? Looks like there are two parts? Sorry if I am asking a daft quextion, but I don't know what 'open source code' means and I don't want to download anything unnecessary.0 -
Don't go downloading it from the website if you can avoid it. On the tablet, if you go into Settings, About Tablet, is there a Software Update option? if you tap this and check for updates do you get any? Update it this way, it's simplest.0

Thank you! I've already tried this and it's telling me I've been upgraded but then, when I check, I am still running 4.2.2. Might have to accept there isn't an up-date which is a nuisance as the activity tracker only works with 4.3 znd above.0 -
OK that's the easiest way out the window. Try the 'scan system' option that pappa golf describes. No guarantees though.
Those downloads you see are, AFAIK just code for developers to work with, and not simply something you can install on your tablet.
It really looks like 4.4.2 should be available though so I'm confused as to why the easy way won't work...0 -
Thank you everyone. I very much appreciate your help. After almillar's last post, I tried a third time using the system upgrade and it's worked! I don't know why nothing happened the first and second time I tried.
No idea what this upgrade means but I can buy my activity tracker now.0 -
Well, you may be on 4.3 or 4.4 now - have a look, there may be another update available (and check in a month again. Looks like 4.4.2 is the latest version (and pretty up to date).0
