Which Car? Or Van?

I am looking for a car or van based on the following...
1. I do not carry passengers or animals. I am more likely to carry bulk items. e.g craft materials.
2. I have an electric wheel chair which I currently use with a mini host. The chair weighs 76kg.
3. I would like some thing that is cheap to run. Diesel is preferred to petrol. I would consider electric.
4. I currently drive about 10,000 miles per year but this could increase in the following year to near 20,000 per year. I drive a mixture of motorway and urban roads.
5. I get tried and sometimes sleep in the back on my car. I would be happy to sleep in the back of a van were I cannot be seen.
I am not sure what else I need to include or ask.
Any thoughts on which make and model may be best.
Thank you for your help.

Why not speak to car places? If you want something which can be adapted, have a look at motability to see local suppliers who can and do make adaptations.
Not sure how you think a van would be cheap to run however. You need to do your own research into what you want or don't want.0 -

If you're a Motability customer, have you had a look at the vans/cars on their website? I believe the car search facility gives information about fuel efficiency and such like. I think they also have a tool which can help you prepare for visits to dealers.
If not, then I'd probably go speak to your local dealer. Maybe go prepared with a checklist of what you need; size, manual/auto what's a deal breaker and what you could maybe compromise on etc.
It's so hard to advise as cars and how we use them are such a personal preference thing.
