8.5km run in mud, ice, puddles and sunshine :) I'm thoroughly enjoying running at the moment, despite having to force myself out. I only came home because I had a meeting booked with my new boss (it's OK, it was a phonecall, no video!) so set my alarm to ensure I had half an hour to get back.

Took the call wearing random layers of clothes I'd found in the utility room after taking off my muddy running kit!

I weighed myself this morning, and my weight is 4kg higher than this time last year, and I have another 4kg to lose over and above that. So I need to get my eating sorted - and carry on with the running. 23km this week :D I can't believe I've managed it.

Thanks for the advice about singing Lessonlearned. I love Elvis and I prefer more old fashioned songs where the words really have meaning when I am singing. I have never thought of singing in public, but when my Mum was alive and living in a Care Home, I did it for her benefit. I mostly sang hymns for my Mum because she was a committed Christian. I have learnt from experience to stick to songs that make my voice sound good.

I am still unemployed and as I am in receipt of JSA, I would have to get permission to do any voluntary work, or lose my JSA for at least 4 weeks by being 'sanctioned' so I could not chance it. They do not give you permission to do voluntary work, as then you would be 'unavailable to work' and would not be 'actively seeking work'. Once I am working again, I will try my hand at singing in public in Care Homes, but I will have to print the lyrics to a lot more songs and learn them.

I was so busy with washing and drying today, that I did not go out of my home. I did have a really lovely pampering bath. I am using lashings of hand cream on my hands and already my hands and my nails are improving. I do use my perfume today as well.

My older daughter who has lots of health issues and can no longer walk unaided, was so impressed when I told her about this thread, that she was inspired. She went out in her wheelchair dressed from head to toe in cerise pink, including a cerise pink wig with purple highlights in the front of the wig and really impressive matching make up. She looked so glamorous and fabulous and she said children kept on approaching her to tell her she looked good. It gave my daughter a much needed confidence boost.

Me too, loving the thought of the cerise and purple wig:D, sugarbaby I hope that your daughter had a great time.

Chanie - when you mentioned last day in office, did you mean last day at the job, or last day before a break? Hope the new washing machine is whirring away quietly and joyfully:D

Keep warm everyone, not forecast to rise above 3 degrees here today:(

  • Morning fabbers! Slipped a bit the last couple of days, but off to work on this lovely icy morning so thought I'd give it another go. So today's fab little things - wearing earrings, perfume, mascara and blusher for work, and I've done my hair for once (I say 'done' but it took less than a minute really) I'm now on the bus wondering if I'm wearing too much perfume... hmm

Hope everyone has a lovely Saturday, and a big *wave* to anyone else working today :)

Same here. How brilliant that people saw her and not the wheelchair. I think lots of us can feel anonymous at times, there's a lesson there. Sugarbaby, please tell your daughter she's inspiring too:).

I'm sure it'll tone down as the day goes through.;) I'm still dithering with perfume. I keep trying two of Jo Malone's. I think I'll ask for two of those tester sticks so I can compare. They're expensive so I want to be sure.

We've football again today (third home game in a week) and today I'm going warm but smart. It's a gloriously sunny but cold day here. So I've decided on thermal trousers and woolly jumper but with my long, black wool coat over the top. Don't worry, red scarf will break up the black!

maddie unfortunately, I can't afford to stop working!!!! I work compressed hours, so I'm off with DD on Fridays. The advantages are that it means we have one less day of childcare to pay for and I use Friday's to run any errands I need to. The disadvantages are that I'm knackered and I barely see the children and OH on the other days.

New washing machine is working well. Me and OH had a friendly bet about what time the washing machine would arrive. OH said 11am and I said 4pm. OH was spot on and they arrived a few minutes before 11am, so he's gloating and I'll never hear the end of it!!!

I've been thinking about gaps in my wardrobe recently. I have a good basic wardrobe so I want to focus on a few more dressier items. We don't often go to places that would warrant getting dressed up, but I'd like to focus on getting a couple of items that can be dressed up or down. I'd also like to focus on getting a couple of quality items.

Which ones are you debating between? I love pomegranate noir and am fortunate enough that people buy me items from the range so i havent had to pay for any myself. I also love pear +fresia, lime+basil, and the cassis one. Go for it - they are so worth it!

I have also had a good couple of days. On Friday lunchtime, I went out with the 'walking for health' group at work. Sunshine, crisp air and 'proper' walking on fields. Back at work in just over an hour. Made my afternoon go quicker and I am sure I smiled more.
Good idea from my employer - hope to go again.:j

Today cup of tea with a good friend - made an effort with bit of make up and a necklace. I also looked in the clothes shops, I cannot help getting distracted by the sales - even though I know that at this time all that is left is either small, large or rubbish. I went in Monsoon - only been in once before - I liked it, a bit pricey but probably some of the clothes will fit the classic label. But it is a start. I need to only buy clothes that make me feel good

Glad to hear you are running, singing and de-cluttering but most of all taking time to love yourself. Lets all keep at it.

I will see if I can get a test of the Jo Malone perfumes, tried at my Boots today but they don't sell it.
