  • UUs :

    Along Came Betty night cream

Nivea Moisturising Hand cream - WBA, very effective and not too greasy.

Yardley Royal Diamond body fragrance - WNBA, not fragrant enough.

    Aqueous cream
  • used up- Just started a 500ml of cleanser and its rubbish. Its like turpentine and could strip the paint off the walls. However, it will not remove make up. So what a waste of money. I used by beloved micelluar water and the amount of residue.
I had spoiled my self with re-purposing expensive moisturizers and body lotions. I failed to see my skin needs quality stuff. thank fully i have a decent cleanser in the stash but its annoying as now the cheap mositurizer and cleanser have been a waste.

Good morning ladies. I have added up my totals for January and am pleased with the UUs/IUTS however the INs are more which is not good. I had 37 INs however I have counted everything even the donations from Emma (with the exclusion of the OPI polishes (as I don't really count polish in my stash)). Nor have I counted the polishes I gave away. 19 of those INs were items from the two subscription boxes and the S&G kit I got in the Sales. The items that I specifically bought were items I needed to replace : cotton buds, deodorant, Defluff, shampoo, nail polish remover, cotton wool and hair colour.

So must try harder next month. I am going to make sure I cancel the Look Fantastic box as we are subscribed to the Birchbox for 6 months.

Tomorrow I am going to empty my "sealed pot" and take the money into my bank to put in my savings. I have been good and put money in there for every UU. Am excited to count it.

I see on YouTube that all the January favourites videos are popping up. I have two products that stand out for me and define repurchases :-

    1. My HG cleanser : Elemis Lime Blossom Balancing cleanser. Was reminded how good this is at balancing my oily skin when I ran out.

    2. Bare Minerals Prime Time primer. Keeps my make up looking fresh all day.

See you in Feb unless I have one last UU today.
Back for the No Buying Toiletries challenge. I pledge to only buy when I run out of a product that is not already in my stash no matter what wonderful emails land in in my Inbox or threads I read on MSE re: glitches!

I'm not sure if I'll finish anything else this month now.

I am giving my nails a rest from polish for a week, they are peeling really badly so I am going to apply Nailoid Toughen up every day.

My January favourites would be Rimmel Match Perfection Foundation and Philosophy Homemade Honey Buns shower gel and body lotion.

Right here are my totals for January, as I doubt I will UU anything else before we move into Feb

    UU-22
    GA-1
    TA-4
    TOTAL= 27

    INS
    BEAUTY-15
    POLISH-8
    TOTAL= 23

    OVERALL -5

Most of my beauty INS were from my little Lush haul that I got in the sales, and my Tata Harper give away prize. The only other INS I have were essential purchases, micellar water, dry shampoo etc where I didn't have a back up in the stash.

I don't really count nail polish in this challenge, but I've made a note of them as I would really like to stop buying nail polish. I have 80, and that's plenty!
I can't wear it in the week on my fingernails as I work in a hospital, so I paint them on a Friday night and take it off again Sunday evening.
I can paint my toenails, but that lasts longer, so I usually paint them about once a fortnight. At that rate of usage I will probably never need to buy anymore :rotfl::rotfl:
I do however want to declutter my polishes, as some are very old and are separating, going gloopy, or I've come to realise I just don't like the colour/formula etc, so my one of my mini goals for February will be to have a sort through them. The other is to do my make-up inventory, and put it on the spreadsheet I have made especially for it! :D

Dolly what is the coverage, colour match and texture like re the foundation? I'm using Tarte Colour Clay foundation at the moment and whilst I love all these qualities in it I am a bit miffed by the delivery system. The product is in a tub which has a net on top. You brush the product off the net and then apply it. However I'm wondering if there is going to be a way for me to get under the net to get all the product out. Will not be happy if not as it was really expensive from QVC although it did come with a brush. Will have to google YouTube and if I can't find a solution on there buy me some Acme dynamite and blow it up like Wily Coyote:rotfl::rotfl: if I can't get all the product out I'll look around for another foundation. Hence, why I was asking before I started rambling!

My Last UU of the month

    17. Lab Series moisturiser (Yes for men!!). Found a sample in my stash and decided to try it and enjoyed using it.

I gave away one item too

    1. GA Chanel Mascara to sister. My maybelline mascara is working just fine and I have a back up of an NYC mascara.
  • Hi everyone,
Few bits to report before January is over (already!).

    UU
    14. L'Occitane Shea Lip Balm. This was from my L'Occitane advent calendar and was quite nice but really didn't last long at all. WNBA
    15. mini Kerastase Baine Architeque shampoo. This was fine, much preferred the conditioning treatment though. WNBA.
    16. La Roche Posay Toleriane Fluid. Glad to see this gone. It's fine if I'm at home and don't want to wear makeup but it does that weird balling up thing if I try and put anything on top. Other LRP products I have used don't do this. Have another in the stash as I bought two on some flukey offer where they were about £3. Hopefully the first one was a dud and this will be ok. WNBA though.

I've also sold an Eve Lom cleansing balm on eBay. I got it in my LF advent calendar but having tried it from a LF beauty box in the past knew I didn't get on with it.

    Got some INs too.
15-16. B. Micellar wipes were on BOGOF
    17. Superdrug Simply Pure Hydrating Serum. Don't know if it's the neverending battering wind from living on the coast but my skin is a bit sensitive and my other serums are stinging a bit at the moment so thought I'd try this. Was 1/2 price.
    18. Tresemme Botanique Hydrating Mist. My mum was getting a shampoo and this £5.49 mist counted in the 2 for £5 weirdly so we split the offer. Smells lovely and coconutty.
19-20. 2x Primark candles. One Sea Salt &Lavender and one Lavender & Sweet Pea.

    January totals:
    OUTS - 22 (16 UU, 1 TA, 3 GA, 2 sold)
    INS - 20.

I just scraped not increasing the stash! I'm quite pleased with that given that I bought stuff in sales which is obviously a January-specific thing. Here's to more stash-busting in February!

VALM - the foundation is lovely, it's a gel/liquid type texture and it glides on like a dream and blends out beautifully, the coverage is medium I would say, it looks fresh and natural and lasts all day (I do use a primer and haven't tried it without).
