  • Hi

    Hope I can join In.

Part of my new attitude for 2016 is that everything in the house needs to be there for a reason. It may come to a time down the road when I have to move because of ill-health and we don't wnat a house full of stuff. It also makes for cleaner and lighter rooms.

So far a bag of clothes has left the house for recycling and a pair of trainers. I have sold two items on ebay so will count

    1, bag of clothes (recycling)
    2, trainers (recycling)
    3, Boots (ebay sold)
    4, Scarf (ebay sold)

Now for 2012 other things to go, the main thing will be when the weather gets warmer and we can get into the garage thats if we can actually get in it!

I have read a book in the past called The Joy of less by Francine Jay I think I will find it and reread it for inspiration.

    Enjoy declutteing

    240. Went through old Christmas card, birthday cards and other events cards. Have recycled in to my card making box or tag tin any parts that can be used and then recycled the backs and any parts that can't be used. (Only count this as one even though lots of paper/card is being recycled).

Have also sorted out the Valentines cards that hubby and I have sent each other, ready for us to pick one, to write another message in and resend it to each other. (This way we won't decluttered up our house and we will save up to £5).

I'll have to look out for the book. I'm reading 'clear your clutter with dengue shui' Karen Kingston. I bought it years ago and read it. Thought I would read it again to inspire me again.

  • Hi

My mother in law is selling the house we all share as my partner and I are hopefully moving to our own place.

So the race is on to de clutter everything!

My question is, is there a thread or anyone seen any ideas on what to do with paperwork. ie: bank statements, pensions. phone contracts etc.

My idea is to scan and bin most things but wondered what other ideas people could share.

    Many thanks in advance.
  • Thank you for the book suggestion Gem-gem will take a look at it.
